Okumura

奥村雄樹は、世界の終わりを培養する。

スイッチが切れる瞬間のテレビ画面を撮影し、
何十回分もループさせた映像＜スーパーノヴァ＞では、
画面上の各グリッドはそれまで形作っていたイメージから解放され、
一瞬純粋な「光」となって収斂し、暗黒へと消失する。
繰り返されるこの明滅は、
遥か宇宙で輝く超新星爆発をどこか思わせる。




"Supernova" 2004 DVD 15 min., TV monitor



Yuki Okumura cultivates the ends of the world and connects them
into “the distant area.”

In "Supernova" (2004), Okumura videotapes again and again the TV
screen at the very moment its power is turned off.

As a result, the clips are united as a loop of blinks, which somehow
resembles the flash of Supernova explosions in outer space.
